JAKARTA, Indonesia's Vale (Vale Indonesia/INCO) emphasized that it will seriously accelerate the development of a nickel smelter project in Bahodopi, Morowali district, Central Sulawesi province.
Adriansyah Chaniago, deputy general manager of Vale Indonesia, said they will speed up the development of a large-scale nickel smelter project in the Bahodopi block in Central Sulawesi province.
He emphasized that the Vale Indonesia working group in the Bahodopi block is working on the project with great energy. Therefore, all parties, including stakeholders, must continue to support.
In the Bahodopi block, Vale Indonesia plans to implement investment commitments under the revised work contract for the development of nickel processing plants in Central Sulawesi and Southeast Sulawesi.

The nickel processing plant in Central Sulawesi will be divided into eight rotary kiln electric furnaces (RKEF) with a forecast annual production of 73,000 metric tons of nickel along with supporting equipment.
The Bahodopi block project includes Vale Indonesia's work contract in the second and third blocks of Bahodopi, Morowali District, Central Sulawesi, covering an area of 16,395 hectares.
The Bahodopi block project is divided into two main parts, the mining project of Vale Indonesia and the development smelter of the joint venture between Vale Indonesia, Tisco and Xinhai.
Currently, the final research phase is underway to ensure the safety of mining activities, economic value, and to ensure the supply of nickel ore raw materials to the processing plant.
Vale Indonesia and partners are in the sustainable research phase to develop a nickel processing plant and ancillary facilities for Sambalagi, Morowali district.
After Vale Indonesia signed a cooperation framework agreement (FCA) with Zhejiang Huayou Cobalt Company Limited (Huayou), Vale Indonesia stressed that the project will be completed within the next three years.
